Sports Teams/Timau Chwaraeon
Sport plays an important part in life at Hendrefoilan, with pupils given a wide range of opportunities to participate in both competitive and non-competitive activities. We aim to encourage enjoyment, teamwork, resilience and healthy lifestyles, while providing opportunities for pupils to represent the school and develop their sporting talents.
Our netball teams are very active, with the premier girls’ team competing in the U12s NPT League and our development squads taking part in a range of local matches. Our mixed netball team also represents Hendrefoilan in the Urdd tournament.
Our football club gives pupils regular opportunities to develop their skills and enjoy playing as part of a team. The school football team participates in competitive matches and Swansea tournaments, alongside friendly fixtures that give more pupils the opportunity to represent the school.
Our athletics club provides pupils with opportunities to develop their running, jumping and throwing skills, encouraging personal improvement as well as preparing pupils for competitive athletics events at Ashleigh Road.
Rugby is another important part of our sporting provision. Pupils have enjoyed opportunities to develop their skills through sessions and events with the Ospreys, including beach rugby, as well as rugby activities at Dunvant Rugby Club. These experiences allow pupils to develop their skills in different environments while promoting teamwork and enjoyment of the game.
Through clubs, coaching, friendly fixtures and competitive events, we aim to give as many pupils as possible the opportunity to get active, develop new skills, represent Hendrefoilan and enjoy being part of a team.
