Schools are responsible for the administration of their nursery applications and parents wishing to apply for a nursery place for the coming academic year can do so by contacting the school of their choice directly.

Key dates for Reception applicants

7 December 2026 – Applications open for children starting Reception in September 2027.

15 January 2027 – Closing date for Reception applications. Applications received after this date will be treated as late applications.

16 April 2027 – Parents/carers who have applied on time will be notified whether their child has been allocated a place at their preferred school.

14 May 2027 – Deadline for parents/carers to lodge an appeal against an unsuccessful application.

31 October 2026 – Closing date for Year 7 applications. Applications received after this date will be treated as late applications.

26 March 2027 – Deadline for parents/carers to lodge an appeal against an unsuccessful application.
